1. How do I use Ratebuster?
   
   • It's easy even for mere mortals!
   • Find the Ratebuster access number for your international destination
   • Call this number and wait for Ratebuster to give you further information!
   • Dial your international number including the country code.
   • Press # (this tells us you've dialled the international number and connects your call quicker).
   • You're connected - get talking mortals!

2. How do I sign up to my low call hero's service?
   There is no need to sign up! Your low call hero Ratebuster is always around without the need for an account. If you want to keep informed of Ratebuster's latest offers then you can sign up for R-news!

3. How much will it cost me to use Ratebuster?
   
   • Find the Ratebuster access number; the price to call that destination is then displayed. This is the price per minute for your call and includes VAT and the costs for the international part of the call.
   • An example call to Australia for 30 minutes at 1/per minute charged (including VAT), from a BT landline will cost you as follows;
   • (30 minutes x 1.02 pence = 30.6 pence) + 13.87 p BT Call Set up fee
     Total cost for the call = 55.2 pence (including VAT at 20%)
   • The Rates shown are what you will pay if you are a BT Together Option One customer. Calls made from mobiles and other service providers may differ and as such you should check with your provider before making a call.

4. Are there any hidden costs that Ratebuster isn't telling me about?
   
   • Ratebuster will not charge you any additional fee for using the service. The price you see advertised is the price you will pay (Including VAT) assuming that you are a BT Together Option One customer. BT applies a 9.9p call set up fee for each call, per call.
   • Calls made from mobiles and other service providers may differ and as such you should check with your provider before making a call.

5. Who will send me the bill for calls made using Ratebuster?
   
   • Ratebuster will not send you a bill for the calls made.
   • The calls will appear on your normal bill from your phone company (for example BT, NTL:Telewest/Virgin Media, TalkTalk).
   • On your bill you will see the Ratebuster access number called and NOT the international destination called; if you see the International number then you have not dialled the Ratebuster Access Number first and missed out on low call savings with Ratebuster.

6. I think Ratebuster has overcharged me! Why is this?
   
   • Ratebuster cannot overcharge you! The rate for this type of number is regulated by Ofcom, the UK regulator, who set a price for each of the number ranges which most providers adhere to. We advertise this rate as charged if you are a BT Together Option One Customer. Unfortunately a small number of providers add in an extra charge for calls; Ratebuster do not receive any of this additional charge.
   • If you believe your bill is incorrect then you should charge your phone company in the first instance.

7. If Ratebuster is my low call hero why do you have expensive 09 premium numbers?
   09 numbers are classified as premium rate; however prices for premium rate numbers vary enormously depending on which number you are ringing. Premium rate number charges start from as little as 5p/min and can be less than your normal international rate. This will still be cheaper than calling the international number directly so always use Ratebuster for the cheapest option!

8. How much will my low call hero save me?
   
   • Your low call hero is always keeping his eye on the pesky competition, and then busts our rates so you know you're getting the cheapest international calls around!
   • To see how much you can save compared to BT check out BT's price lists - your savings will be out of this world!
   • Not with BT? Just check against the rate on your provider's website - you'll be amazed at the savings with Ratebuster!

9. Will I be charged more for a peak call than an off peak call?
   
   • No, Ratebuster keeps it simple! You enjoy one great rate all day everyday with no need to worry about when the time you're call - make sure you're not waking up your Auntie in Australia with a late night call!

10. I want to get talking quickly; can I interrupt the Ratebuster voice prompt?
    Yes you can! Simply dial your international number at any time during the recording and then press # to connect to your destination (this tells us you're finished dialling and speeds up connection).

11. Can I use Ratebuster from my mobile?
    
    • Yes, you can. You should be aware that the rate for the call to Ratebuster may be higher from your mobile than from a landline. How much you will be charged depends on your mobile operator and which tariff plan you have.
    • Please note your mobile operator controls this rate on their billing system. We unfortunately have no influence on what they may charge, nor do we receive a penny extra of any higher amount. We advise you to get in touch with your mobile phone provider to double check their rates to our access numbers.

12. Can I use Ratebuster from payphones?
    Ratebuster access numbers are accessible from any UK phone, including payphones. However, be aware that calls from payphones may cost more than the price stated on this website.

13. Can I use Ratebuster if I'm a NTL:Telewest/Virgin Media customer?
    
    • Ratebuster access numbers can be used from most landlines including NTL:Telewest/Virgin Media. The billing process for Ratebuster access numbers works exactly the same as with BT; the charges will simply appear on your NTL:Telewest/Virgin Media bill.
    • NTL:Telewest/Virgin Media should charge the same low rates as BT for Ratebuster access numbers. However, if you would like to check their rates please visit their respective website.
    • Should you encounter a problem with your telephone bill please contact your provider directly as they set the rates they charge you to our access numbers on their own billing systems.

14. Can I use Ratebuster when I travel outside the UK?
    The Ratebuster service is only available for calls originating within the UK. So if you live abroad or if you are on holiday outside the UK you will not be able to take advantage of our services.

15. Why has my low call hero switched access numbers on me?
    
    • Ratebuster is always looking to save you money; if we 'bust' a rate to a particular destination then it is necessary to change the access number - if we don't your phone provider will continue to charge you the rate on the previous access number!
    • Want to be updated every time Ratebuster smashes another evil call rate? Sign up for R-news and you'll always have the lowest rates to hand!

16. I've tried to use the Ratebuster number but can't; where is my low call hero?
    
    • Some providers 'block' calls to our service or simply haven't 'opened' them up on their network - you should contact your provider to find out more.
    • Calls to 09 prefixed numbers may be barred on your phone, please contact your provider to allow calls to these numbers.
    • If you dial a 4 digit number before making calls (this is called Indirect Access) then your provider may not allow calls to our access numbers. If this is the case then simply call the Ratebuster access number without using this 4 digit number to connect to the service. If you have a 'smart' device then simply unplug this before making calls and you will then connect to our service. You will then be billed by your line rental provider.

17. How do I contact my low call hero?
    In order to continue to keep busting rates; we do not have an expensive call centre. Should you have any questions or haven't found the answer to your question on this page then simply email us at info@ratebuster.co.uk for a super hero reply!

18. I can't get through to the international destination, help me Ratebuster!
    
    • There are a number of reasons why you cannot connect
    • Have you dialled the correct Ratebuster access number? The prompt should tell you if you're unable to dial the destination using the access number.
    • Check the number dialled hasn't changed, you may need to get some help from the International Operator (152)
    • During popular events networks can be busy; please try again.
    • If you're calling a remote destination then, on occasion, it can take several attempts to connect to the end destination please remember that each time you are connected to Ratebuster you are charged from that time and not upon connection to your international destination.
    • If the destination you wish to call is not served by Ratebuster then please email us and we will do our best to include this destination in our low rate service. info@ratebuster.co.uk
